Law Lifestyle Update: Life, Celebrating, Studying, and my Exciting Future
To everyone here on The Law Lifestyle: long time, no see! It’s been a minute.
I took a break for most of this past semester without any warning to you. And I apologize for that. I desperately needed time to focus on fall finals, classes, my internship, my bar application, my job search, and so much more. It’s been a whirlwind of a final semester, and I’m excited to hop back into this blog.
While resetting a lot of my website and my Instagram page (which you can find here 😉), I looked at my old work and photos for the first time in a long time. I’ve come a long way in the four or so years since I first started this blog as an 0L. It’s been a big part of my life. I’m grateful to you for reading this, whether you’ve been here since the beginning, or you just happened to find me today.
I think of who I was as an 0L, 1L, and 2L, and I’m proud to think of how far I’ve come. I vividly remember sitting in a classroom for my first day of orientation and thinking to myself, “There’s no way I’m going to be able to do this.” Now, I tell that as a funny story to my orientation group students. I’m more confident in my abilities and I know what I’m capable of achieving.

Getting past all that cheesy stuff to some slightly less cheesy stuff, I’ve missed you and this blog! I’m excited to get back into writing and posting and interacting with you all. Keep your eyes peeled for new content from me, and make sure to let me know what you want to see from The Law Lifestyle.
Where I've Been
That all being said, I thought I’d give a little update on what I’ve been up to since my break and what’s up next for me.
Obviously, I began my last semester of law school (thank goodness)! I was hoping it would be a “chill” semester, but that has definitely not been the case. I’m taking three classes, working in the office for my internship, and working another job answering intake phone calls. On top of all that, I'm finishing up all my other activities like law review and student orgs. Applying for jobs and the bar exam took up SO MUCH of my time. I knew it was going to be a bit rough, but it has been a long haul.
My class also got our first (and last) law prom at the beginning of April. It was so much fun, and I’m glad we were able to squeeze one in before graduation. It was so nice to see everyone dressed to the nines and dancing the night away.
Where I'm Going
Speaking of graduation, that’s coming up in about a month. I don’t know where the time has gone, but somehow, it’s been three years and I have to actually go act like an adult in the workforce now. I’m really excited to finally be done with school and finally get to practicing (once I pass the bar).
Bar prep is also right around the corner. I’ll be taking the bar in Colorado, where I’ve been going to school, and my plan right now is to work part-time as a law clerk with a small personal injury and family law firm while I’m studying for the bar and then transfer to a full-time law clerk while I’m waiting on my bar exam results. Once I pass, I’ll be the family law attorney on their staff, which I couldn’t be more pumped for.
I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me and I’m so glad you’re along for the ride!
xoxo,
Rachel
