How to Create a Study Schedule
I've always been someone who thrives on a schedule. I'm usually pretty busy, so it's nice to have my days and weeks planned out so I can stay on track. Creating study schedules has been monumental in getting ready for big exams in life. My study schedules helped through LSAT prep, and now they're helping me through finals in law school.
Here's some of my tips for creating an effective study schedule to keep yourself focused on your goals!

Prioritize, prioritize, prioritize
A study schedule won't be effective if you overload it or don't focus on what you need to study. If you already know what you really need to focus on, put an emphasis on that in your study schedule.
For example, when I was studying for the LSAT, I focused heavily on logic games because that was the section in my first practice test that I did the worst on. For finals right now, I spent a lot of time going over easements and covenants in preparation for my property final. Think long and hard about what would best benefit you, and put that at the top of your list.
Give Yourself Breaks
Staying on top of a study schedule isn't worth it if you're sacrificing your mental health for a grade (even if it's pass/fail). I like to put in reminders for myself so I can't forget that I wanted to play some Animal Crossing or go for a walk. Giving yourself breaks will also keep you from feeling burnt out or too exhausted, and will help you retain more information.
Customize It
I like to put my study schedules into my planner because it has tons of space and I get to use my planner stickers! It helps me stay organized and motivated, especially with all the cute quote stickers I have.
Even if you don't have a planner like mine, there are still others ways to make your study schedule personal. When I was studying for the LSAT, I just used a printout calendar and filled it in however I wanted to. Making your schedule yours is a good way to put yourself into a good mood whenever you look at it.
Follow It
There's no point in spending all this time making a study schedule if you're not going to follow it. Of course, sometimes things come up and you need to change it a bit, but, for the most part, holding yourself accountable is really important here.
There are always going to be days when you wake up and don't feel like doing anything, and that's totally fine, but remember why you're studying and why you made that study schedule in the first place.

Rachel
