My Morning Routine
Good morning, everyone!
I'm definitely a morning person, so I thought it'd be a great idea to write about my morning routine this week. Since starting law school, I've been trying to keep myself on a schedule during the week so I'm never too tired or feel too out of it.
6:00 a.m.
My alarm goes off at 6 most mornings (unless I'm giving myself time to sleep in until 7). I get up relatively early because I like to go to the gym in the morning to wake myself up and have some me time before heading to school all day.
6:30 a.m.
I get to the gym around 6:30, unless it's a Monday or Wednesday, which is when I go to a kickboxing class after my last class of the day gets out. Depending on my workout schedule for the week, I'll do 20 minutes of cardio with a five-minute cool-down, a set of exercises for my core, and a set of exercises for either my lower body or arms.
7:30 a.m.
After getting home from the gym, I'll put on a face mask and hop into the shower. My favorite face mask to put on in the mornings is Lush's Cup o' Coffee scrub because the smell wakes me up even more.
7:45 a.m.
When I'm done with my shower, I'll turn on my Keurig and make a cup of coffee to sip on while I get ready. Lately, I've been trying to pick out my clothes the night before so I have extra time in the morning to spend in the law building (yay). I'll spend some time putting on a little bit of makeup, pulling my hair back (it's too annoying to have in my face when I spend most of my day bent over my casebooks), and getting dressed.
8:15 a.m.
Around this time, I'll make a quick breakfast and begin packing up my backpack for the day. I don't have a set breakfast, but I regularly swap out cereal, a smoothie, a bagel with cream cheese, and eggs.
8:30 a.m.
This is when I'll attempt to leave to go to school (and, let's be honest, when I'll probably head over to Starbucks to pick up my mobile order because I have no self control). When I get to the law building, I'll usually find a study room to take over or grab a table in the library.
xoxo,
Rachel
