How to Create a Capsule Wardrobe
Capsule wardrobes are something I've seen on Pinterest for years, and I've always been tempted to try them out to make life easier in the morning. I'm currently working on my own capsule wardrobe, and I thought I'd share some of the tips I've come across and discovered on my own in today's blog.
But first, what is a capsule wardrobe? A capsule wardrobe is a mini wardrobe made up of versatile pieces that can be worn in many different ways and for many different occasions.
The first step is to go through your closet. I figured now would be the perfect time to do this as spring cleaning. If I pulled out a piece of clothing I never wear anymore, that doesn't fit my style anymore, or I didn't love anymore, it'd be time to donate it.

After organizing your closet, it's time to start planning out the colors of your closet. Pick a base color, preferably black or navy blue, that you can find in tons of bottoms, tops, jackets, etc. After choosing your base, find some complimentary neutral colors--some ideas are gray, white, brown, and blush pink. Lastly, choose a few accent colors that match your other colors, as well as adding in some textures and patterns. Remember that any patterns should match your base color.

Don't forget shoes and accessories, too. There should be pairs of shoes for different occasions, from a night out with friends to a morning hitting the gym. Bags and jewelry should match or compliment your base color.

A few important things to remember as well are making sure you have layers, especially for fall and winter, keeping your personal style in mind when choosing what to keep, and not getting too attached to old clothing you never wear anymore.
