Looking Toward November

Happy November!

Since this is the first post of its kind, I thought I'd start off with an explanation. At the beginning of each new month, I am planning on writing about some of my favorite new things, what's happening during that month, and some of my goals that I'm hoping to accomplish. I'll also go over if I accomplished my goals in the following monthly blog.

November Goals

Let's kick things off!

November is a pretty big month for me. It's been on my mind for months. I am finally taking the LSAT on November 17. I'm trying to stay calm about this, as I don't want to psych myself out. One good thing, though, is that that night some girls from my high school organized a bar crawl for all recent grads who can legally drink, so I'll be able to relax and spend time catching up with my favorite people after taking the test. Hopefully it'll balance my day out.

In addition to the LSAT, the rest of November will be filled with work and law school applications. I'm currently working on the second draft of my personal statement. Keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be done with that soon!

Here are my goals for November:

  • Get at least a 160 on the LSAT (even though I won't know my actual score until sometime in December--hopefully!)
  • Finish my personal statement
  • Journal and do my yoga practice more often
  • Reach 100 followers on Instagram
Make sure to check back next month to see how I did with my goals!

Magic Crystals Shower Scrub from Lush

If you're trying to get your smoothest legs ever, this is the scrub for you. I'm absolutely obsessed with it even though I've only used it a few times. Its mint scent is invigorating and wakes you up immediately upon smelling it, so I like using it in the morning if I have time. The worker at Lush who helped me pick this out told me that she thinks the best way to use Magic Crystals is to rub it into your legs while they're still dry, then hop into the shower to lather them up before rinsing off and shaving. That's how I've been using it, and I love the results. The amount of times I've told my sister to feel my leg after shaving with this is ridiculous.

Sugar Plum Fairy Lip Scrub from Lush

I bet you can guess who spent too much money at Lush recently. Although I do love fall and I'm super happy that I can pull out all my sweaters to wear, my lips always become way too dry once it starts getting colder. I always use a lip balm throughout the day, but sometimes I just need a little extra help. That's where this scrub has been coming in clutch. I probably use it about once or twice a week, depending on how dry my lips are. I've seen such a huge improvement already, it's crazy.

The Babe Rainbow

Via Beat Magazine

I found The Babe Rainbow from my Discover Weekly on Spotify, and I immediately fell in love with them. They're a psychedelic pop group from Australia with a very chill vibe. I've been listening to them while studying, and I feel like their music has been helping me focus. Some of my favorite songs by them are "Sunflower Sutra" and "Peace Blossom Boogy."

Suncity by Khalid

I'm so happy that Khalid is getting as much recognition as he is--he deserves it all! As soon as this album came out, I was listening to it. I've been putting it on whenever I have a chance. I like to listen to it while I'm showering in the morning. If you're a fan of any of Khalid's previous work, Suncity is definitely for you.

ATracker App

I've been trying to be more productive lately, so I decided to go through the app store and download the ATracker app. I think that my favorite part of it is the pie chart of how you spend your time. It's nice to see what I'm spending most of my time doing, as well as noticing what I need to spend more time on.

Rose Quartz Necklace from Francesca's

I found this gorgeous rose quartz necklace at Francesca's while out shopping with my sister last week. I think it's beautiful, and it's small and delicate, so it adds a girly touch to any outfit. I've been wearing it pretty often since I bought it.

The Alchemist

The Alchemist is a book I've been hearing about forever, and, since I just renewed my library card, I was elated when I found it there. Once I started reading this, I blew through it quickly. I wrote down so many quotes from the novel that I found inspiring. It's a beautiful story, and, if you haven't read this yet, I highly recommend it.

Okay, yes, just like with Lush, I also may have spent a little too much money during my Francesca's shopping trip. But once I pulled this off the rack, how could I say no to it? To be very honest, whenever I add this over an outfit, it makes me feel like such a hippie, and I am all about that. The yellow color makes a statement, and I always get compliments on it.

What are you looking forward to in November?

xoxo,

Rachel
